H1-B quota got filled up on May 26, 2006. You have to wait till April 1, 2007 to apply for H1-B, unless the company falls in the exempt category (non-profit, university...). If the SKIL bill is passed in the lame duck session it can change things as well.

IS the HDFC bank receipt number a 10 digit one? It has space for only 10 digits on the website while booking an appointment. My number has an 'A' before the 10 digits. When i enter just the 10 digits it says "Cast from string "undefined/undefined/undefined" to type 'Date' is not valid". 2 business days havent been completed yet (since the payment) and that might be one of the reasons but i am not sure yet. Anybody see this before?
Also, as i understand once this goes through, i will be able to fill in the details for the DS-156 and DS-157 automatically and dont need to go to any other site. Appreciate your insight

My kid brother (15 years old and US Citizen) lives in India with my parents. They are quite elderly now to take care of him and we were thinking of bringing him to US legally to live with us. We want to adopt him so that he can have a good lifestyle here and have no issues legally in future. Is there anyone who has gone through similar case before ? In theory, you don't have to be in the US for any part of the permanent residence (PR)process. A company could do a labor cert and I-140 for you, and then you could complete the PR by interview at a consulate, and only then start working for the US employer. In practice, of course, that never happens. However, it is possible so that you can safely go to India.

I checked from Tijuana site that if one has an appointment in Tijuana, then they will verify for PIMS entry for that petition.
Question --
1) How much does it cost to setup an appointment in Tijuana ? Do you need to pay the entire visa fee ($125) upfront during appointment ?
2) If the above is not true (and appointment can be set at a nominal cost), is it possible to set up an appintment, get PIMS verified and then cancel the appointment (I am planning for stamping in India)
3) If the above is doable , is it considered fraud -- any issues likely during stamping ? I believe it should not be, since they are anyway getting the additional money for setting up the appointment.

The employer has to be big enough (300+ is a big company) or if small (such as less than 15), it has to show company's return and sometimes business in hand.
